Pre-Action Protocol Tenant

Helping landlords to understand what they are meant to do before they take any action against their tenants is one of the many services that UK-Debt Collection offer.

What protocol must I follow?

As a landlord, it is your duty to notify your tenant as soon as they fall into arrears with their rent and you must contact each tenant separately. Advising contact with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau is also recommended. You must serve your tenant with notice papers to forewarn them of your intent to proceed to the courts after 14 days if the arrears are not paid. You must also send a letter including a draft claim form towards the end of this period. We at UK-Debt Collection are happy to advise on each stage of the dispute resolution for you, our client.
